The image of a young boy and his sister feeding geese at the park... seems light and whimsical, right? Now try to rethink that same image from the perspective a a 3 foot tall boy looking into the hungry eyes of a 3 foot tall goose and the dynamic changes a bit. Noah stood there with the bag of bread in his hand watching the geese poke, bite, and honk at one another fighting for a fragment of the next piece. He looked into his hand which contained the object of their affection and he was terrified! He said "Cut, I need to talk to my Mom". I ran over and checked in with him, I guessed that he had to use the bathroom. He took my suggestion and said "Yes I do have to go". As we ran up the hill to the bathroom, he revealed that he was too embarrassed to admit that he was scared to be in the middle of that feeding frenzy. He didn't have to go to the bathroom at all, but he was hoping to keep that facade going with the rest of the crew. After all he had a tough guy image to maintain on the set.
